Tailwaggers Learning Center was established in 1995—a time when Friends was must-see TV, Alanis Morissette dominated the radio, and most of us were still taking photos on film and hoping they turned out.

While the world has changed quite a bit since then, one thing hasn't: the special bond between dogs and their people.

What started as a group of passionate dog owners sharing training tips, celebrating successes, and helping each other through challenges has grown into a thriving community dedicated to dog training education, canine enrichment, and lifelong learning.

A lot has change since 1995

Looking Ahead

While the tools technology and sports continue to evolve, our mission remains the same:

To help dog owners build stronger relationships with their dogs through education, training, sportsmanship, and community.

We've also witnessed plenty of changes along the way.

Back in the early days, trial check-ins involved a clipboard, a piece of paper, and someone crossing your name off with a pen. Today, competitors can enter online through services like MyDogEntry and check their running order through Agility Gate right from their phones.

We've gone from carrying bulky video cameras to digital SLRs to smartphones that can capture every jump, every dock splash, and every victory lap in stunning detail. What once took weeks to develop can now be shared instantly with friends across the country.

Our crates have gotten softer, our lawn chairs have gotten more comfortable, and somehow our trial gear keeps multiplying every year.

We've lived through dial-up internet, Y2K, flip phones, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. We've watched training methods evolve, dog sports grow, and technology transform nearly every part of the dog world.

Yet Some things remain the same.

The excitement before stepping to the start line.
The pride of reaching a goal you've worked toward for months.
The friendships built ringside.
The laughter after an unexpected run.
And the joy of sharing life with a dog who makes every day better.

At Tailwaggers, we believe every dog owner deserves access to trusted dog training resources, expert guidance, and a supportive community that celebrates both the big wins and the small victories. Whether you're raising a new puppy, working through behavior challenges, competing in dog sports, or simply looking for new ways to enrich your dog's life, you'll find people here who understand the journey.

Today, Tailwaggers Learning Club continues to educate, inspire, and empower dog owners through workshops, events, dog sports education, training resources, and hands-on learning experiences.

We've made it through three decades of change, more dog hair than we'd care to calculate, and enough lawn chairs to furnish a small stadium.

And if there's one thing we've learned since 1995, it's this:

Dogs make our lives better. Learning helps us make theirs better.

And no matter how much technology changes, dog people will always find a way to spend an entire conversation talking about their dogs.
