Your Questions, Answered

  • Tailwaggers membership is more than just being part of a dog club. Members receive special member pricing on Tailwaggers fun runs, training opportunities, seminars and other club activities when offered. Membership also includes a Tailwaggers club shirt and gives you a voice in the club, including voting privileges once membership requirements are met.

    Most importantly, you're joining a community of people who love dog sports, support each other and work together to make our trials, training opportunities and events happen.

  • Annual Tailwaggers membership is $35 per year and includes a club shirt.

    Membership will automatically renew each year so you can stay active without having to sign up again. You can cancel your renewal at any time before your next annual renewal date.

  • Tailwaggers is a club rather than a traditional dog-training school, but we regularly look for opportunities to offer fun runs, practices, seminars, workshops and special training events for our members.

    Members often receive special pricing or priority access when those opportunities are available.

  • Tailwaggers hosts AKC agility trials and other club activities at different locations in South Florida.

    Our major agility trials are currently held at the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierce, while fun runs, practices and other activities may be held at different facilities throughout South Florida.

  • Yes. Tailwaggers is a volunteer-run club, and our members are a big part of what makes our events possible.

    Active members are expected to participate in club activities and complete their annual volunteer requirements. There are lots of ways to help, both at trials and behind the scenes, so you do not need special experience to volunteer.

    Volunteer time at eligible Tailwaggers events may also earn WorkerBucks™, which can be used toward eligible Tailwaggers expenses.

  • Members are expected to stay involved with the club and participate in club meetings during the year.

    Most of our meetings are held by Zoom, which makes it easy to participate from home. They are on the first Monday of each month, unless it falls on a holiday. We know everyone has busy schedules, so our goal is to make club involvement as easy and accessible as possible.

  • No! You don't even need to own a dog to join Tailwaggers.

    Tailwaggers is for people who love dogs, dog sports and being part of a fun, active community. Some of our members compete with their dogs, some volunteer at trials and events, and others simply enjoy being involved with the club.

    Whether you have an agility dog, a future agility dog, or no dog at all, you're welcome at Tailwaggers!

  • Yes. Voting members in good standing have a voice in the direction of Tailwaggers.

    Members can vote in club elections and on matters that are brought before the membership. Eligible members may also run for positions on the Tailwaggers Board of Directors.
